 | The Way of Living Together

Background

This project should showcase various hostel proposals which focus on spaces that motivate creativity and interaction.

Allowing users to focus, inspire and develop ideas through the different degree of intervention with local communities, and revisiting the local culture and tradition.

People walk in the doors and feel connected to a group of travellers and local residents.

Design Statement

I would like to create a concept which is 'treasure hunt' in this hostel design. Sham Shui Po is a place that having diverse materials, so many people will come their to find out what they want. Moreover, Sham Shui Po also very popular in night market and evening market. At night, many elderly will take their second hand things to the street and sell the product.

I think these two things are the characteristics of Sham Shui Po, so I want to keep these ideas in my hostel for showing the features to the travellers and continue the social culture form hostel and local residents.
